Hand a task to an agent and approve its work

Set a task's Doer to AI agent, choose how much it can do on its own, and approve or send back what it proposes.

An agent can propose that a task is finished, but by default only you can close it. Done enforces that on its side, so it holds even if an agent tries to skip it.

Assign a task to an agent

  1. Open the task and set Doer to AI agent — or type @agent or @claude when you add it.
  2. Optionally open the Agent section to choose Autonomy: Ask first (the default) makes every completion wait for you; Auto-complete and Full autonomy let the agent close it without asking.
  3. Your connected agent picks the task up the next time it checks your queue, or straight away if you press Run now.

What comes back

  • Plan proposed — the agent wants a go-ahead before starting. Choose Approve plan, or Reject with a note to have it re-plan.
  • Waiting on your answer — the agent asked you a question. Answer it on the task.
  • Pending approval — the agent says it's done. Choose Approve & complete, or Ask for changes to send it back with feedback.

Where to review

On desktop, everything waiting on you collects in Control Room under Awaiting your approval and Waiting on your answer. On a phone, the Review view shows one card at a time — swipe right to accept, left to skip, or open the task to send it back.

Turn on Approval alerts in Account & settings → Preferences → Notifications to get an email or Slack DM when something is ready for you.
