Use Done from Slack

Create, update and finish tasks with /done, and approve agent work from a Slack DM.

Someone installs the Done app to your Slack workspace once; after that, each person links their own Done account, and everything they do in Slack is scoped to their own tasks.

Set it up

  1. Install the app from trydone.app/docs/slack with Add to Slack (once per Slack workspace).
  2. In Slack, run /done connect, open the link, sign in to Done, and approve.

Commands

  • /done Call the landlord tomorrow p1 — creates a task, using the same cues as quick add.
  • /done done landlord — marks the best-matching open task done.
  • /done update landlord :: friday, low priority — changes it; the text after :: is applied as cues.
  • /done list — shows your next five tasks. /done help shows every command.
  • Mention @done in a channel to do the same without a slash command.

With Approval alerts set to Slack, agent work waiting on you arrives as a DM with Approve and Request changes buttons. /done disconnect unlinks your account.
