The basics

Snooze, repeat and focus

Push a task out of today without losing it, decide what a repeating task does when you close it, and time a session.

Snooze a task

Snoozing takes a task off Today, Plan my day, the Week view and your calendar feed until it wakes. It still shows in All tasks and its project, marked Snoozed until…

  1. Open the task and click its Snooze button, or press S with a task row focused.
  2. Pick Later today (3 hours from now), Tomorrow, Next week (the coming Monday — a full week out if today is already Monday), or Pick a date.
  3. While the picker is open, 1, 2 or 3 pick those three presets directly.

When it wakes, a snoozed task returns to Today from the day you snoozed it to, without an overdue flag, even if it had a softer due date inside the snooze window — a hard deadline is untouched and can still show as missed. Wake now clears a snooze early. Snoozing is separate from Waiting on someone else: snooze is your own later, waiting is parked on someone else.

Finish a repeating task

An open recurring task has two ways to close it: Complete & repeat finishes it and creates the next occurrence; Complete & end series clears the repeat rule first, so finishing it doesn't create another one.

The next occurrence always follows the original schedule, not when you actually finished it — completing a weekly Friday review on Wednesday comes back next Friday, not next Wednesday, and completing a missed Friday review the following Monday still comes back the Friday after.

Time a session with the focus timer

Open a task and click Focus in its header, then choose Focus for 25 min (a 25-minute session with a 5-minute break after) or Open-ended timer. Press F with a task row focused to start, or stop, a 25-minute session on it.

Only one timer runs at a time — starting another stops and credits the one already running. Stop timer and log the time adds the time to the task (a 25-minute session credits only its focus portion, never the break) and logs it in the task's activity. An open-ended timer credits at most 12 hours even if you forget to stop it. The focus timer is a human-only feature — a connected agent can't start or stop one.
