The basics

Follow up on tasks you're waiting on

Park a task on someone else without losing it, and draft a follow-up message when it's time to check in.

Mark a task as waiting

  1. Open the task and, under Blockers & waiting, turn on Waiting on someone else.
  2. Set Resurface on for the date you want it back on your radar, or leave it blank to keep it parked until you unpark it.

A waiting task comes off your calendar, Plan my day and Today until it resurfaces — parked on someone else, rather than your own later the way a snooze is. It stays visible on the board under Waiting, and in Control Room.

Draft a follow-up

On a saved, waiting task, fill in who you're waiting on — Name, Email, What you asked for, and, if you want to send there, their Slack member ID — then click Draft follow-up. Done writes a short message from what you filled in and how long it's been, ready to edit.

  • Send to my Slack sends the message to your own Slack DM, with a button that opens a chat with them — you still send it yourself.
  • Copy puts the message on your clipboard to paste anywhere.

Done never sends the message to the other person on either path — only you do. Only a Slack send is remembered as Last drafted…; copying isn't recorded.

Turn on Follow-up suggestions in Account & settings → Notifications and Done DMs your own Slack a suggested follow-up the morning a waiting task resurfaces — nothing is sent to the other person.
