To-do list template

A simple, printable to-do list template: a few must-dos for today, the rest of the week, and what you're waiting on. Fill it in here, print it, or import it into Done.

A to-do list only works if it separates what has to happen today from everything else. This template has three short sections for exactly that: a few must-dos, the rest of the week, and the things that are waiting on someone else.

Type straight into it — what you write stays in this browser and nowhere else — print it for your desk, or paste it into Done when you want dates, projects and an agent that can take some of it off your hands.

Waiting on

What you type is saved in this browser only. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Use it in Done

  1. Press Copy and open Done. The template goes onto your clipboard as a list.
  2. In Done, open Settings → Data → Import and choose Paste a list.
  3. Paste it, check the preview and import. The heading becomes a project called “To-do list”, and each line becomes a task.

How to use this template

  1. Write no more than three tasks under Must do today. If everything is a must-do, nothing is.
  2. Put the rest of the week's tasks under This week, in the order you'd do them.
  3. List anything you're waiting on, and who it's from, under Waiting on.
  4. Tick tasks off as you go. At the end of the day, move what's left — or cross it off for good.

Hand it to your agent

Connect Done to Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP client (it takes a minute), then paste this prompt. Your agent works through Done's own tools, under the same approval gate as everything else.

Fill in the parts in [brackets] before you send it.

Work only through the Done MCP connector, on my Done account.

Here is my to-do list:
[paste your list here]

1. Call list_tasks and list_projects first, so you know what's already on my board and where things belong.
2. For each line that isn't already a task, call quick_capture with the line as I wrote it, so dates like "friday" and priorities like "p1" are understood. Add #ProjectName when a line clearly belongs to one of my existing projects.
3. Don't assign anything to yourself. Instead, tell me which tasks look like something you could do — research, drafting, tidying up — and I'll decide.

End with a short list of what you added and what you skipped as a duplicate.
