Eisenhower matrix template
An interactive Eisenhower matrix: type tasks into Do first, Schedule, Delegate and Delete, then print it or import the keepers into Done with their priorities set.
The Eisenhower matrix sorts tasks on two questions: is it urgent, and is it important? The answers put every task in one of four boxes, and each box has one move — do it, schedule it, delegate it, or delete it.
The trap it catches is the urgent-but-unimportant box: work that feels pressing and moves nothing. In Done, the Delegate box has an obvious new home — an AI agent.
Do first

In Done, Do first imports as urgent, Schedule as medium and Delegate as low priority. Delete stays behind — that's the point.
How to use this template
- Type each task into the box that fits: urgent and important, important but not urgent, urgent but not important, or neither.
- Do the first box now.
- Give each task in Schedule a date.
- Hand the Delegate tasks to someone else — or to an agent.
- Let the last box go. That's what it's for.
Hand it to your agent
Connect Done to Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP client (it takes a minute), then paste this prompt. Your agent works through Done's own tools, under the same approval gate as everything else.
Work only through the Done MCP connector, on my Done account. Sort my open tasks with the Eisenhower matrix: 1. Call list_tasks for my open tasks, and list_goals so you know what counts as important to me. 2. Put each task in one box: Do first (urgent and important), Schedule (important, not urgent), Delegate (urgent, not important) or Delete (neither). Urgent means a real deadline or someone waiting; important means it moves a goal or a commitment. 3. Do first: call update_task with priority "urgent" and horizon "today". 4. Schedule: call update_task with priority "medium" and a realistic due_date. 5. Delegate: don't reassign anything. List the ones you could do yourself — research, drafts, tidying up — and I'll hand them to you. 6. Delete: don't delete anything. Call ask_decision on each one, recommending won't-do, so the call is mine. End with the four boxes as a short list, one line per task.
