Apple Reminders MCP server
No. Apple doesn't publish an MCP server for Reminders. Community servers reach it through EventKit, Apple's on-device API for reminders and calendars, so they run on your Mac.
How to connect it
- On a Mac, install a community server such as FradSer/mcp-server-apple-events (npx mcp-server-apple-events).
- Add it to Claude Desktop, Claude Code or another client as a local server.
- The first time it runs, macOS asks you to allow access to Reminders; allow it once.
What it can do
- Create, read, update, complete and delete reminders, with priority and subtasks
- Create and rename lists
- Filter by due date, and read calendar events too
What it doesn't do
- None of them is made or supported by Apple.
- They need a Mac that's on; an assistant on your phone or on the web can't reach them.
- Alarms, repeats and location triggers are read-only in the server we checked.
Staying on Apple Reminders?
If your reminders live on an iPhone and you want an assistant on your Mac to see them, an EventKit server is the simplest route: it reads the same synced lists, with nothing sent to a third party.
When Done makes sense instead
Done is a to-do app built for handing work to an AI agent, with the parts an agent needs before you trust it with real tasks:
- An approval gate: by default an agent can propose that a task is finished, but only you can close it. Done enforces that, so it holds even if an agent tries to skip it.
- Questions instead of guesses: an agent parks a decision with its recommendation, and you answer in one click.
- Plans before work: an agent can propose a plan that waits for your yes before it starts.
- Lanes: name your agents and pin each task to one, so two agents don't pick up the same work.
- Scoped access: tokens that are read-only or limited to one project or workspace, and budgets an agent can't raise.
Moving takes one step
Reminders has no CSV export. Select the reminders in a list, copy them, and use Paste a list on Done's import preview.
Done's import preview shows exactly what lands — projects, tasks, due dates, priorities — before you create an account, and nothing is uploaded.
