Microsoft To Do MCP server
No. Microsoft doesn't publish an MCP server for To Do. Community servers reach your lists through the Microsoft Graph API, signed in with an app registration you create.
How to connect it
- Register an app in Microsoft Entra (Azure) with the Tasks.ReadWrite permission.
- Install a community server such as jordanburke/microsoft-todo-mcp-server and run its sign-in step to get a token.
- Add it to Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Cursor as a local server.
What it can do
- Create, read, update and delete lists, tasks and checklist items
- Work with personal, work or school accounts, with the catch below
What it doesn't do
- None of them is made or supported by Microsoft.
- Personal Microsoft accounts get limited To Do access through Graph, and can hit a MailboxNotEnabledForRESTAPI error; work and school accounts get full access.
- Each one needs your own app registration, which is real setup for a to-do list.
Staying on Microsoft To Do?
On a work or school account, a Graph-based server works well. On a personal outlook.com account, test it on one list before you rely on it.
When Done makes sense instead
Done is a to-do app built for handing work to an AI agent, with the parts an agent needs before you trust it with real tasks:
- An approval gate: by default an agent can propose that a task is finished, but only you can close it. Done enforces that, so it holds even if an agent tries to skip it.
- Questions instead of guesses: an agent parks a decision with its recommendation, and you answer in one click.
- Plans before work: an agent can propose a plan that waits for your yes before it starts.
- Lanes: name your agents and pin each task to one, so two agents don't pick up the same work.
- Scoped access: tokens that are read-only or limited to one project or workspace, and budgets an agent can't raise.
Moving takes one step
Microsoft To Do has no CSV export. Select the tasks in a list, copy them, and use Paste a list on Done's import preview.
Done's import preview shows exactly what lands — projects, tasks, due dates, priorities — before you create an account, and nothing is uploaded.
